Football Recap: Monte Vista Comes Up Short

Monte Vista and Santana pushed the score to 38-35 the last time they played Santana, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Monarchs fell 14-7 to the Sultans. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Monarchs couldn't quite close it out.

The critical scores for Santana came from Maddox Esoo and Caleb Carnes.

Monte Vista dropped their record down to 4-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Santana, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
