Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Jefferson extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-9. They came up short against the Holy Cross Knights, falling 62-36. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Philip Prather, who posted 12 points and three steals. Diego Tovar was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.

As for Holy Cross, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.3 points.

Holy Cross' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah Marin led the charge by going 5-for-8 en route to 16 points. What's more, Marin also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February. Another player making a difference was Steve Hernandez, who had eight points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Jefferson has already played their next matchup, a 76-42 loss against Bishop Lynch on the 4th. As for Holy Cross, they will take on Incarnate Word Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season.
