Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Comes Up Short

Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 50-34 bruising from the Del Mar Dons. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-37 back in January.

Zoey Hinkle was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 23 boards for Del Mar. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hinkle has scored at least a third of Del Mar's points. Another player making a difference was Chimaya Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Oak Grove's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Del Mar, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Grove will face off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Del Mar, they will take on Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
