Basketball Recap: Bella Vista Takes a Loss

Bella Vista lost against Christian Brothers back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bella Vista Broncos had to suffer through a 67-18 loss at the hands of the Christian Brothers Falcons. The contest marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ellie Thome was Bella Vista's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Eva Jensen held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Christian Brothers' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joy Omishakin, who went 6 for 9 en route to 13 points. Omishakin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Journey Williams, who went 7 of 9 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds.

Bella Vista's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Christian Brothers, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Bella Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-41 defeat against Granite Bay on the 8th. As for Christian Brothers, they will venture away from home to challenge Rio Americano at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rio Americano has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with eight straight losses, while Christian Brothers will come in with five straight wins.
