Preview: South Fork Cubs vs. Hoopa Valley Warriors
South Fork is 1-9 against Hoopa Valley since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Fork Cubs will look to defend their home court against the Hoopa Valley Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
South Fork suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 49-26 walloping at the hands of Ferndale. While losing is never fun, South Fork can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 916th, while Ferndale is ranked 305th).
Meanwhile, Hoopa Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 52-39 to St. Bernard's.
Despite the defeat, Hoopa Valley got a solid performance out of Tashee Tracy, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Tahlia Booth, who scored six points.
South Fork's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Hoopa Valley, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-6.
South Fork was dealt a bruising 68-17 loss at the hands of Hoopa Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for South Fork, Tatianna Colegrove (who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 25 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
