Football Recap: San Marcos Comes Up Short at Home Against Mount Miguel + How To Watch

San Marcos unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They and the Mount Miguel Matadors were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Knights suffered a 28-27 defeat. While the Knights had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Matadors 13-7.

Despite the loss, San Marcos still got an impressive performance from Zamar Reese, who rushed for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 46 receiving yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Marcos will take on Tesoro at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Miguel, they will square off against La Costa Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
