Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mar Vista). They walked away with a 40-32 victory over the San Ysidro Cougars on Wednesday. The Mariners have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Mar Vista was led to victory by Allyson Bell and Anissa Smith. Bell dropped a double-double on 19 points and 23 rebounds, while Smith dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Mar Vista's points.

Mar Vista's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for San Ysidro, their defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mar Vista has already played their next contest (against Southwest SD), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
