Baseball Game Preview: Baldwin Braves vs. Westside Patriots

The Baldwin Braves will take on the Westside Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Baldwin has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Tuesday, Baldwin came up short against Westside and fell 11-7.

For Westside's part, Justin Lampkin was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Lampkin has posted since back in March. Broxton Franklin was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Baldwin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Westside, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Baldwin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Westside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts.
