Basketball Game Preview: Monta Vista Matadors vs. Los Gatos Wildcats

Monta Vista is 0-6 against Los Gatos since December of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Monta Vista Matadors will head out to take on the Los Gatos Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Monta Vista has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Monta Vista took their matchup with ease, bagging a 62-29 victory over Homestead. The Matadors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Los Gatos challenged Carondelet on Saturday. Los Gatos was beaten by Carondelet 85-57. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Cougars are ranked 22nd).

Monta Vista is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28 points. As for Los Gatos, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Monta Vista came up short against Los Gatos in their previous matchup back in January, falling 56-51. Can Monta Vista avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
