Basketball Recap: Moshannon Valley Comes Up Short

Moshannon Valley lost against Cambria Heights back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels had to suffer through a 64-30 loss at the hands of the Cambria Heights Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights/Damsels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while the Highlanders are ranked 205th).

Sienna Kirsch continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cambria Heights, going 14 of 21 en route to 33 points and eight steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kirsch has scored at least a third of Cambria Heights' points. Another player making a difference was Gracey Vinglish, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Moshannon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Cambria Heights, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

Looking ahead, Moshannon Valley will host Northern Cambria at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cambria Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
