Recap: Del Oro Golden Eagles vs. Pleasant Valley Vikings
The Del Oro Golden Eagles were the 60-35 winner over the Pleasant Valley Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Del Oro suffered a tough 59-39 defeat at the hands of Pleasant Valley on Friday. Del Oro found out winning isn't easy when you make seven fewer threes than your opponent.
Del Oro's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Gordon, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shaelyn Parry, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Pleasant Valley can attribute much of their success to AJ Gambol, who scored 29 points. Maddux Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Del Oro's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Pleasant Valley, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Del Oro will head out on the road to face off against Chico at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pleasant Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vanden at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
