Soccer Game Preview: Paraclete vs. La Salle

The Paraclete Spirits are taking a road trip to square off against the La Salle Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Paraclete's offense. They fell just short of St. Genevieve by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, La Salle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Genevieve. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Valiants are ranked 119th).

La Salle's loss dropped their record down to 4-10-2. As for Paraclete, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4-2.

Paraclete beat La Salle by a goal in their previous matchup on January 14th, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Paraclete since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
