Dougherty gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Sumter County Panthers as the Dougherty Trojans made off with a 20-3 victory. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Dougherty got a massive performance out of Camarien Wimberly, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Wimberly a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Braylen Still, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.

Dougherty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .815. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .529 that Sumter County posted.

Coming up, Dougherty will square off against Hardaway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sumter County, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Westover at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
