Baseball Game Preview: Lanier Longhorns vs. Hillgrove Hawks

The Lanier Longhorns will take on the Hillgrove Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lanier has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Lanier's offense. They came up short against Cherokee Bluff on Monday, falling 15-0. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hillgrove was able to grind out a solid victory over Centennial on Friday, taking the game 6-2.

Hillgrove is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lanier, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-20.
