Softball Recap: Pace Academy Has No Trouble Against Midtown + How To Watch

Pace Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Midtown on Wednesday. Pace Academy put the hurt on Midtown with a sharp 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Pace Academy, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Megan Wrigley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in August of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Wrigley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nilaya Nag, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Pace Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Midtown, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Coming up, Pace Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Pope at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Greyhounds' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Midtown, they will host Decatur at 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
