Basketball Recap: Winfield Gets the Win

Winfield saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with a 63-55 win over the Summit Christian Academy Falcons. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Generals.

When it comes to explaining why Summit Christian Academy lost, don't look at Eli Patton. Despite the final result, he shot 55% from beyond the arc to rack up 37 points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Patton now owns an excellent 46.1% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Kyler Carpenter, who posted eight points in addition to 13 rebounds and three blocks.

Winfield's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Summit Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Winfield and Summit Christian Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Generals see the court they'll take on Princeton at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Summit Christian Academy, their break will end when they face PikeView on the 29th.
