Baseball Recap: Druid Hills Comes Up Short

Druid Hills came into this matchup off a tough 15-run loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Marist War Eagles by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the War Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Jake Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Noah Brocklebank also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Druid Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Marist, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Druid Hills will host Trinity Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Druid Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Marist, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Pius X Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
