Soccer Game Preview: Argo vs. Lyons

Argo is 2-8 against Lyons since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Argonauts will host the Lions at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Wednesday, Argo didn't have quite enough to beat Hinsdale South and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Lyons faced Oak Park-River Forest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Lions fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for Lyons seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Argo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14-5. As for Lyons, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4-2.

Argo beat Lyons by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Argonauts repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
