Basketball Recap: Crawford Beats Southwest SD for Their Third Straight Win

Crawford had won two straight games and Fatuma Abdi did her part to make it three on Wednesday. The Crawford Colts walked away with a 53-43 win over the Southwest SD Raiders thanks in part to Abdi, who posted 22 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Ilhan Ali Mohammed was another key player, putting up 11 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Southwest SD lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Violet Youngblood, who had 13 points. Youngblood is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Pilar Carrera, who put up 12 points.

Crawford now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Southwest SD, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Crawford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 32-19 defeat against Patrick Henry on the 24th. Southwest SD has also already played their next contest (against Mar Vista), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
