Baseball Recap: Black River Takes a Loss

Black River fell victim to Keystone and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Black River's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-5. As for Keystone, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Black River will take on Wellington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Keystone, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Oberlin at 5:00 p.m. The Wildcats are facing the Phoenix at the right time seeing as the Phoenix are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
