Football Game Preview: Erwin Warriors vs. Huss Huskies

The Erwin Warriors will head out to square off against the Huss Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Huss took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Erwin, who comes in off a win.

Erwin is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past North Buncombe 42-6 on Friday. The Warriors not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 1, 2024 (when they won 56-14).

Erwin relied on the efforts of Caden Ingle, who threw for 241 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and Jah'Baree Tolbert, who rushed for 165 yards while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. That's the most passing yards Ingle has posted since back in November of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Erwin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 94.4 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 152.7.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Huss' offense. The game between the Huskies and Ashbrook didn't end well, with the Huskies falling 16-0. The Huskies have struggled against the Greenwave recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Huss' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Erwin, their record is now 3-7.
