Softball Recap: Columbine's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Columbine had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Chatfield Chargers with a sharp 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Columbine let Olivia Keiter and Charlee Abelein run wild. Keiter went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Abelein fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Keiter is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Izy Ryan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Columbine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

Columbine's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Chatfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
