Corona extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Alex Flores. The Corona Panthers came out on top against the Walnut Mustangs by a score of 59-49 on Saturday thanks in part to Flores, who went 8 for 18 en route to 27 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Corona's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Daisy Canchola, who posted nine points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Walnut still got an impressive performance from Kameryn Perea-Saupan, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 18 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Claire Olia, who earned 12 points and eight rebounds.

Corona is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Walnut, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.

Corona didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-36 loss against King on the 14th. As for Walnut, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-35 defeat against Diamond Bar on the 14th.
