Softball Recap: Green Mountain's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Green Mountain dropped to 12-9 on Wednesday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the D'Evelyn Jaguars, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 back in September.

Green Mountain saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalilah Camacho, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

As for D'Evelyn, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 16 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

On D'Evelyn's side, the result came thanks to Nava Basquez's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. Basquez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Macie Allen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Seda, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Green Mountain will square off against Conifer at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lobos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for D'Evelyn, they will face off against Golden at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will need to watch out since the Demons have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven games.
