Basketball Recap: Apollo Has No Trouble Against Shadow Ridge

Apollo posted their biggest victory since January 4th on Tuesday. They blew past the Shadow Ridge Stallions 66-44. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Stallions: they've now won six in a row.

Cristian Acevedo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. What's more, he also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joe Sumpter, who went 6-for-7 en route to 14 points.

Despite the loss, Shadow Ridge had strong showings from Jalen Harris, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 15 points and five boards, and Beau Curtis, who posted nine points.

Apollo pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points over those games. As for Shadow Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Apollo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shadow Ridge, they have already played their next game, a 55-41 win against Valley Vista on the 12th.
