Baseball Recap: Highland Takes a Loss

If Highland was riding high fresh off their 18-2 takedown of Century on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richfield Wildcats on Friday.

Highland got a good showing from Bridger Hanks, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits Hanks has allowed since back in April of 2025.

On the hitting side, Cannon Eddie made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI. Andrew Scott was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Richfield, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Coming up, Highland will take on Desert Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunder have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Richfield, they will face off against Sky View at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
