Bigfork faced Hamilton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings and Valkyries skirted past the Broncs 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings and Valkyries sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Max Schara spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bigfork's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rye Rodriguez, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Rodriguez has posted since back in April of 2025. Another was Grady Campbell, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
Bigfork's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Hamilton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-4 record this season.
