Recap: River Valley Panthers vs. Northern Cambria Colts
The River Valley Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 73-38 victory over Northern Cambria. River Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 26 points or more this season.
Ava Persichetti continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emilee Staats, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
The victory was the sixth in a row for River Valley, bringing their record for this year to 15-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Northern Cambria, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
River Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Shamokin at 3:15 p.m. on January 27th. The timing isn't great for West Shamokin: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while River Valley has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. Northern Cambria will take on Ferndale at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Ferndale is ranked 557th, while Northern Cambria is ranked 539th).
