Southeast Whitfield County waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Cherokee Warriors by a score of 3-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Southeast Whitfield County's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Cherokee are ranked 253rd).

Jonathan 'Jona' Hernandez and Joseph Pina scored all three of Southeast Whitfield County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 26 goals.

Southeast Whitfield County pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matchups. As for Cherokee, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, Southeast Whitfield County will be playing in front of their home fans against Dalton Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cherokee, they are taking a road trip to take on Calhoun at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
