Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Union Mine). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bradshaw Christian The Pride 74-22. With the Diamondbacks ahead 39-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Leading Union Mine to victory were Adriana Cavallaro and Kyra Wooden. Cavallaro went 7 of 12 to rack up 20 points and four steals, while Wooden went 7 for 15 en route to 18 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Wooden has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Hodnett, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points along with six boards and five steals.
Union Mine was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Despite the defeat, Bradshaw Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gianna Watkins posted 11 points.
Union Mine has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Bradshaw Christian, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.
