Orange won the last time they faced Northwood and Star Thomas did his part to make sure it happened again. The Panthers snuck past the Timberwolves with a 34-28 victory on Friday with plenty of help from Thomas, who threw for 361 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 70 yards and one score on only six carries. His passing game has become a key predictor of Orange's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.

Orange's leading receiver Adam Maldonado was Thomas' top target yet again, picking up 90 receiving yards and one TD. Maldonado also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making six total tackles.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Orange's defense and their three sacks. Joshua Flores was especially locked on to Northwood's QB and sacked him twice.

Northwood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dylan D'Epifanio, who threw for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and Isaac Kwon, who gained 158 total yards and two touchdowns. Kwon was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 62 yards.

Orange's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Northwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Thomas and Carter Vestermark. Meanwhile, Northwood will face off against rival Fountain Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
