Basketball Game Preview: Lawndale Cardinals vs. Troy Warriors

The Lawndale Cardinals will face off against the Troy Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Lawndale has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.

Last Friday, Lawndale escaped with a win against Leuzinger by the margin of a single free throw, 64-63. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by just one point.

Telayia Fuller was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The match was her ninth in a row with at least ten points. Kalani Pearson was another key player, putting up 18 points along with six boards and six steals.

Meanwhile, Troy entered their tilt with Foothill on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took down the Knights 41-24.

Lawndale has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Troy, they pushed their record up to 9-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
