For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Chadron and Chase County have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Saturday. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 14-2 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by nine runs or more this season.
Cali Hendrickson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in September. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Chadron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chase County only posted an OBP of .333.
Chadron now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Chase County, they are on an 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
