The Villages Charter Buffalo will venture away from home to challenge the Citrus Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Villages Charter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

On Tuesday, The Villages Charter humbled Crystal River with a 71-33 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-14.

It was another big night for Herva Brutus, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Domiya Foreman, who posted 13 points and seven steals.

The Villages Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 34 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Citrus ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lecanto 58-56. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but the Hurricanes were the better team in the second half.

The Villages Charter has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points over those games. As for Citrus, their record now sits at 8-4.

Everything came up roses for The Villages Charter against Citrus in their previous matchup back in December of 2020, as the team secured an 85-15 win. Will the Buffalo repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
