Basketball Game Preview: Academy at Palumbo Griffin vs. Paul Robeson Huskies

The Academy at Palumbo Griffin will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Paul Robeson Huskies at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Academy at Palumbo is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Philadelphia Academy Charter: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Academy at Palumbo blew Philadelphia Academy Charter out of the water with a 53-7 final score. With the Griffin ahead 36-5 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Aisha Muibi had an outrageously good game as she almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Naimah Hargrove, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Paul Robeson put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 55-39 victory over Tacony Academy Charter. The Huskies' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Academy at Palumbo better focus on containing Ashley Robinson and Amodjonae Mitchell as the pair were huge in Paul Robeson's win. Robinson put up 31 points, while Mitchell had 21 points. Robinson's afternoon made it 18 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Academy at Palumbo pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.3 points. As for Paul Robeson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
