After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Point Pleasant Boro, Middletown South was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Toms River North Mariners 4-3. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mariners, too.

Middletown South's victory bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Toms River North, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Coming up, Middletown South is taking a road trip to face off against Columbia at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Toms River North, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Robbinsville at 4:00 p.m. The Ravens' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Mariners' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
