Basketball Recap: Shikellamy Braves vs. Selinsgrove Seals

The Shikellamy Braves stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Selinsgrove, posting a 51-6 victory on the road. Given Shikellamy's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Seals are ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lily Fatool was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Blaire Balestrini, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Shikellamy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Selinsgrove, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shikellamy will take on the Ironmen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Danville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Selinsgrove, they will be playing at home against the Green Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lewisburg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
