Baseball Recap: Yulee Gets the Win

Yulee proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 15) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Stanton Blue Devils 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since February 11th.

Yulee got a great performance from Jackson Jones as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Yulee secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Logan Riege, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Yulee's record now sits at 10-14. As for Stanton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yulee will host Cedar Creek Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stanton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eagle's View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
