Basketball Recap: Mt. Zion Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Mt. Zion Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Layton Christian Academy Eagles. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Layton Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabriel Sularski, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Nikola Janicic, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Mt. Zion Prep Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Layton Christian Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Mt. Zion Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Phoenix Montessori Academy at 1:00 p.m. on December 6. As for Layton Christian Academy, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Pleasant Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
