Softball Recap: Berthoud Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mountain View

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berthoud). They were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over the Mountain View Mountain Lions on Tuesday. The Spartans have beaten the Mountain Lions the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mountain Lions has come to flipping the script.

Abby Rogers was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rachel Brothers, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Berthoud hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain View struck out six times.

The win got Berthoud back to even at 3-3. As for Mountain View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-6-1.

Looking ahead, Berthoud will take on Air Academy in a tournament on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Kadets have averaged an impressive 13.5 runs per game this season. As for Mountain View, they have already played their next game, a 19-0 defeat against Severance on the 4th.
