Basketball Recap: Titusville Comes Up Short

Titusville lost against Franklin back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The game between the Titusville Rockets and the Franklin Knights didn't end well, with the Titusville Rockets falling 49-35. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Knights are ranked 234th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katie Boal, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. Boal is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Blum, who posted 16 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Titusville's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Franklin, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Oil City the next time they take the court. Franklin will host Oil City at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, while Titusville will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
