Softball Game Preview: LaFayette Ramblers vs. Sonoraville Phoenix

LaFayette has won nine straight games at home, while Sonoraville has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Ramblers will host the Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (LaFayette 1.6, Sonoraville 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

While LaFayette's victory against Murray County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Ramblers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Indians on Monday.

Meanwhile, Sonoraville put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Ringgold a 4-0 shutout.

Lila Mullinax looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Sonoraville's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Angel, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

LaFayette's win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Sonoraville, their victory bumped their record up to 23-5.
