Softball Recap: Horizon Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holy Family, Horizon was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Highlands Ranch Falcons get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Kaiya Barela's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6.3 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tessa Munsch, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024. Regan Glaza was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

The victory got Horizon back to even at 3-3. As for Highlands Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Horizon will challenge Arvada West at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Highlands Ranch, they will take on Brush at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
