You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Waxahachie on Saturday. They walked away with a 50-42 victory over the DeSoto Eagles. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 70-63 victory on Friday.

Waxahachie got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Brown out in front who posted 14 points. Trae Nunn was another key player, putting up 16 points.

DeSoto's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blayke Cook, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 13 points and seven boards. Those 13 points gave Cook a new career-high. Another player making a difference was William Langrum, who put up eight points.

Waxahachie has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-14 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for DeSoto and nudges their season record down to 20-13.

Waxahachie has already played their next match, a 64-49 victory against Copperas Cove on the 18th. DeSoto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
