Basketball Recap: Providence Comes Up Short

Providence's tournament run continued when they took on Sherman Oaks CES on Saturday. The Pioneers fell 43-36 to the Knights. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sherman Oaks CES had a senior duo take command as Sultana Ahmadzi posted 21 points and Bhavya Wisjesundara scored 18 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Ahmadzi has scored at least a third of the Knights' points.

Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Sherman Oaks CES, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Coming up, Providence will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica at 3:30 p.m. As for Sherman Oaks CES, they will take on Panorama at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. The Pythons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
