Softball Recap: Johns Creek Comes Up Short

Johns Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Flowery Branch Falcons. The Gladiators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Johns Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zelda Arthur, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. Isla Wells also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Johns Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Flowery Branch, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johns Creek will face off against Gainesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gladiators will need to watch out since the Red Elephants have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Flowery Branch, they will take on Lanier at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Longhorns have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
