Softball Recap: Pierce Takes a Loss

Pierce had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 10-20 to make it 12. They fell just short of Logan View/Scribner-Snyder by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-5 loss last Thursday.

Pierce saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evelyn Skrdla, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, their win bumped their record up to 17-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since August 26th.

On Logan View/Scribner-Snyder's side, Marah Fischer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Arienne Summers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Maryn Wragge, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Pierce does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 loss against Centura on the 6th.
