Basketball Recap: Sanger Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Sanger's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Tulare Union The Tribe 49-28. The Apaches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sanger to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucy Takeda, who posted 12 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Brea Poindexter, who earned six points along with seven boards and three steals.

Sanger's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 21 points. As for Tulare Union, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Sanger will be taking part in a tournament against Lompoc at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lompoc will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Sanger surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tulare Union, they will venture away from home to square off against Hanford West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hanford West has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
