Softball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Brookstone's Winning Streak

If Brookstone was feeling good fresh off their 17-3 takedown of Landmark Christian on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southland Academy Raiders on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

The defeat snapped Brookstone's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record. As for Southland Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookstone will venture away from home to challenge Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.22 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southland Academy, they will square off against Fullington Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Raiders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
