Football Recap: Taft Comes Up Short at Home Against Mathis

Taft unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 48-7 loss at the hands of the Mathis Pirates. The Greyhounds have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Coming up, Taft will challenge West Oso at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mathis, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against George West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
